Tooth fillings are one of the most essential restorative dentistry services offered in our Midlothian, VA dentist office. That’s because fillings not only repair teeth damaged by tooth decay but also help prevent future damage from occurring.
Fillings also beautify your smile by removing decay. In fact, if Dr. Hood Biggers uses a composite, tooth-colored material for your filling, no one will even know it is there!
To catch decay in its early stages when it can be addressed with a tooth filling, call Biggers Family Dentistry at 804-621-2199.

We offer tooth-color fillings. They are made out of a composite material. We can match any tooth shade because everybody's mouth—every tooth has a different color. We can also mill it on our milling machine and cement the fillings in, as opposed to bonding the fillings in.
If Dr. Biggers detects any cavities in your teeth during a dental exam, he will remove decay and determine which of the two tooth fillings materials he uses are most appropriate for your situation. The options are:
- Amalgam, or silver, fillings
- Tooth-colored composite fillings
Among the factors Dr. Biggers will consider:
- Extent of damage
- Location of decay
- Any allergies you may have
Amalgam’s key advantages as a tooth filling material are its durability and its relatively low cost. Composite is the better choice when appearance is an important consideration. Unlike amalgam or other metals, we can match a composite filling to your natural tooth color.
